We are excited to announce the launch of alwaysAI’s new cutting-edge MLOps features. Along with Dataset Management and Remote Deployment, Model Training is the third enhanced feature of alwaysAI 2.0.

What’s new and improved in our MLOps lineup? An enhanced UI from which to choose model training parameters, multiple GPU options for faster training times, forecasted training times based on your specific parameters, real-time session performance, and a brand new model evaluation tool, modelIQ.

Select Your Model Training Parameters (Improved)
While alwaysAI users have always (wink!) been able to configure their model training session in any way they see fit, we have streamlined the process through an updated UI.

Choose Your Training Speed (*New*)
When developing your computer vision model, it’s important to understand the tradeoff between accuracy and speed. The larger and more complex the model, the longer your inference speed (the time it takes the model to make a prediction). The smaller the model, the faster the inference time with (most likely) less accuracy.
Depending on your use case, you might opt to sacrifice one or the other. With alwaysAI’s enhanced Model Training, training speed will not be an issue, even for the largest model. You can select from multiple GPU options and see an estimate of how long training will take based on each option. Choose from Standard, Turbo, Nitro, or Nitro Max options.
Get Forecasted Results (*New*)
Based on each of the parameters you select, we’ll show how long model training should take. Armed with this data, you can adjust one or more parameters for more flexible model training.
See Session Performance in Real-Time (Improved)

Understanding your model performance can feel like trying to paint a portrait in the dark. You don’t know what you’ll get until it’s done. Not with alwaysAI Model Training! Our new and improved tool allows you to see your training session performance in real-time.
Get mAp, recall, and validation loss in real-time to better understand training performance. Validation loss indicates an error with the model. Mean Average Precision (mAp) essentially measures the accuracy of your bounding boxes, and recall indicates if your model missed an object completely.
By seeing these metrics as your model trains, you’ll save time and eliminate unnecessary headaches. These metrics will help identify problems in your model so you can make adjustments earlier in the process.
The handy progress status bar provides real-time data about the progress of your model training to maximize your valuable time.
Evaluate Your Model With alwaysAI’s modelIQ (*New*)
Once your model training session is complete, alwaysAI offers a complete model evaluation tool. modelIQ uses the logic of the Confusion Matrix to help measure the precision and recall of your model and provides an F1 score for your test dataset. With this level of detail, you can narrow down where your model needs to be refined.
For example, modelIQ can evaluate how your model performed by label, size, and image quadrant to pinpoint exactly where your detections are most accurate and where they need adjusting.
With these unprecedented insights, the entire model training process is smoother, producing models that deliver.
